We are looking for Landscape Architects to join their Stroud team. We operate throughout the UK providing landscape design and landscape planning services for private developers, public sector agencies and a number of leading architects and planners.
We have a broad base of expertise and knowledge in the practice covering education, health, leisure, urban regeneration, housing, commercial, industrial, retail and waste management sectors. We specialise in masterplanning sites where there is a particular need for a landscape led approach.
The role will require a broad set of skills ranging from LVIA to detailed design working on projects such as large-scale strategic sites to Paragraph 79 houses. The ideal applicant will be self-motivated with a good attention to detail and looking to progress their career in Landscape Architecture.
Qualifications & Experience:

The promotion of a new settlement extension on land to the south of Bishopstoke to provide up to 500 high quality homes of mixed tenure, including affordable dwellings set within a well defined and attractive landscape framework. The site lies to the south of Bishopstoke providing a very sustainable strategic location, with easy access to local facilities providing the opportunity for a high quality urban extension.
The project involves the promotion of the former Redhill Aerodrome and surrounding land to provide up to 8000 homes and a wide range of services, facilities and infrastructure to support new homes and businesses.
DLA were appointed to provide an initial capacity appraisal identify the quantum and location of potential development areas within the Phase 1 BEW strategic allocation. Landscape and Visual Assessment, trees, flood, heritage and ecology formed key constraints in the consideration of the development framework plan and subsequent landscape strategy.
Promotion of 320ha for at least 2000 homes, supporting community facilities and Country Park.
DLA were responsible for the preparation of a landscape and visual appraisal and subsequent landscape capacity study to provide an evidence base to support the site’s promotion as a Strategic Housing Allocation within the Emerging Local Plan.
The Sharpness Vision is for a fully self contained new settlement of up to 5000 houses structured on the ‘One Planet Living’ and Garden City principles with enhanced and diversified employment opportunities within a stunning landscape setting.
Planning permission achieved for 14 house scheme within the Costwold AONB.
800 homes allocated in North Poole local plan, masterplanned by DLA. Following approval of 325 homes on behalf of Barrot David Wilsom Homes.
Another appeal success - second time round for 200 homes at Lydney in the Forest of Dean. Inspectors decission agreed with the appellants landscape evidence and dissmissed claims of a 'valued landscape'.

Construction continues on-site for paragraph 55 house at Headlands.
Canford Park proposes to provide around 2,500 new family homes that would complement the wider number of flats and houses being developed within the district of Poole.
Canford Park also proposes to deliver around 100,00 sqm of new employment premises, a local centre – including a school, shops and community facilities together with 89 hectare of public access parkland.
DLA have achieved outline planning permission for 90 dwellings north of Summer Lane, Pagham. The layout connects the proposed residential area with the village hall and provides its own SANG as mitigation for lying within 5km of Pagham Harbour SPA. The scheme also provides significant public open spaces with new dog walking routes and a wildlife zone within a SUDS catchment area. Other constraints include tidal flooding and edge of settlement sensitivity.
A hybrid planning approval for the development of a mixed use employment scheme for the Fuel and Distribution Depot at Bognor Road, Chichester. The development will include the re-use of sustainable brownfield site and deliver readily available serviced land for businesses looking to expand over the short and medium term. The scheme includes:
• B1/B2/B8/ Employment uses;
• Waste Transfer Facility;
• 3 no. Ancillary roadside catering units;
• A new vehicular access; and
• A discount food retail unit.
Full planning permission within a site currently occupied by a single dwelling. The proposal will replace the existing house with two new residential dwellings within associated gardens.

Full planning permission achieved for the conversion of a former agricultural building to a single residential dwelling at the Pig Barn, Bibury.
Full landscape value, capacity and sensitivity study submitted to Arun District Council supporting proposals for a new settlement at Barnham, Eastergate and Westergate.
Outline planning permission granted for 31 dwellings outside of the settlement boundary at Parkland Farm, Whitminster.
